Schools are supposed to be places where students learn, grow, and feel supported. But sometimes, things don’t go as planned. Maybe your child isn’t getting the special education services they’re entitled to.

Maybe they’ve been unfairly disciplined or bullied, and the school isn’t doing much about it. Or maybe you’re a teacher facing a complicated employment issue. That’s when an education lawyer can step in to help.

Have you ever heard about an education lawyer? Today, I’m going to tell you what this professional does and when it is time to hire the best one!

What Does an Education Lawyer Do?

Education lawyers specialize in the legal side of schooling, everything from students’ rights to school policies, discrimination, special education, and disciplinary actions.

They understand both state and federal education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Title IX, and Section 504. In simple terms, they make sure that schools follow the law and that students (and sometimes teachers or parents) are treated fairly.

When You Should Hire an Education Lawyer: Top Reasons

You don’t need an attorney for every school issue, but there are certain situations where professional legal guidance can make a huge difference.

1. Special Education and IEP Disputes

If your child has special needs and you’re not satisfied with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan, an education lawyer can ensure the school meets its legal obligations.

They can help you:

 • Request evaluations
 • Challenge an inadequate plan
 • Attend IEP meetings
 • Appeal denials of services

Heads-up

They help you navigate the maze of special education law so your child gets the support they deserve.

2. Bullying, Harassment, or Discrimination

If your child is being bullied, especially when it’s related to race, gender, religion, or disability. Further, the school isn’t taking proper action; an education lawyer can help you file a formal complaint under Title IX or civil rights laws.

They’ll make sure the issue is documented, reported correctly, and handled legally.

3. Suspension, Expulsion, or Disciplinary Actions

Has your child been suspended or expelled unfairly? Schools must follow strict procedures before removing a student from class or expelling them. An education lawyer can:

 • Review whether the school followed due process
 • Represent your child in disciplinary hearings
 • Help appeal unfair decisions

Even a short suspension can affect a student’s record, so it’s worth getting legal advice early.

4. College or University Issues

Education lawyers don’t just work with K–12 students; they also help college students facing issues like:

 • Academic misconduct accusations (cheating or plagiarism)
 • Title IX complaints (harassment or assault cases)
 • Disciplinary hearings
 • Tuition or financial disputes

If your academic future is at stake, having a lawyer ensures your rights are protected during internal investigations or hearings.

5. Teacher or Staff Employment Problems

Teachers and school employees also turn to education lawyers for help with:

 • Unfair dismissal or demotion
 • Contract disputes
 • Discrimination or retaliation claims

An experienced education attorney can negotiate with school boards or districts and represent staff in administrative hearings.

How to Know It’s Time to Call a Lawyer

A good rule of thumb?

When the school stops listening, start talking to a lawyer.

If your emails go unanswered, if meetings don’t solve anything, or if your child’s situation keeps getting worse, that’s a sign it’s time for legal help.

Education lawyers don’t just “sue schools.” Many times, they resolve things through communication, mediation, or negotiation before it ever reaches court.

Read, Before You Go

Hiring an education lawyer isn’t about creating conflict, but it’s about ensuring fairness. Whether it’s your child’s right to an education, your job security as a teacher, or your protection under federal law, an attorney can help you understand your options and fight for what’s right.

So if you’re stuck in a situation where school policies, rights, or rules feel too complicated to handle alone because that’s your cue. It might be time to call an education lawyer.

People Also Ask

Q1. How much does it cost to hire an education lawyer?

Fees vary by location and case complexity. Some lawyers charge hourly (typically $150–$400 per hour), while others offer flat fees or consultations.

Q2. Can an education lawyer help with college or university issues?

Yes. Education lawyers assist with college cases involving academic misconduct, Title IX investigations, unfair grading, or disciplinary hearings.

Q3. Do I need a lawyer for an IEP meeting?

Not always, but it can help. If you believe your child’s IEP is inadequate or the school isn’t following the plan, an education lawyer (or advocate) can attend meetings with you, review documents, and push for appropriate services.

Q4. Can I handle school disputes without a lawyer?

You can start by communicating with the school directly. However, if you’ve tried resolving the issue and nothing has changed.

The world today is fast, and everyone is hustling. Work takes up most of our time. There is little time for relaxation or for relationships.

As a teacher, I have faced the struggle, and some days I have even wanted to cry. As they say, the struggle is real. The good news is, I was able to sort myself out. I rose above the teaching challenges and started to handle the matters related to my personal life, like a pro!

Teaching is a profession that demands your heart and soul, so you need to keep them in check. Brace yourselves, as I quickly get on with tips to maintain work-life balance for teachers.

What is Work-Life Balance? Secret to a Healthy Lifestyle

Work-life balance means the ability of a person to manage their personal lives while handling the burden of their job responsibilities.

Imagine a juggler, in the middle of his act, throwing balls into the air as he expertly catches the previous one and picks up yet another one.

Now imagine yourself in your teaching act, trying to juggle similar balls, except they are the roles in life that you play. There’s a ball each for parenthood, for house duties, for grocery trips, for preparing lesson plans for online tutoring, your brother’s upcoming wedding prep, and whatnot!

If a juggler were to miss a ball, his act would be ruined. Similarly, if you missed any one of these things, you would feel defeated. The bright side to this situation is that you are not juggling balls, and you can work out a solution that suits you best.

THIS is what a work-life balance in teaching is. Where you don’t just survive but flourish in all the roles that you play. And you compartmentalize your work and personal life. When one ends, the other begins.

Why is Work-Life Balance in Teaching Important?

The common misconception is that a teacher’s day ends with home time dismissal. Whereas that is not the case. A teacher is at work and at home. Late into the night, teachers are found preparing lessons, marking papers, or preparing for the following day’s lesson.

Teaching is a job that requires you to be present, ALL THE TIME. You will spot the unease of a child who has a headache, and you will scaffold the ones who are unable to draft answers on their own, all while conducting the lesson.

This is how life is as teacher; you must come to grips with that. I’ll tell you the reasons why work-life balance during teaching is important:

 • Be stress-free and maintain good physical health
 • Spend quality time with family and friends
 • Look after your mental health
 • Do justice to your profession
 • Relax your nerves
 • Look and feel healthy
 • Work on your professional development

10 Best Strategies to Maintain Work-Life Balance in 2025

A healthy work-life balance provides ease not only in your personal life but in your professional life too.

Without any delay, I’ll share my top 10 tips to maintain a healthy work-life balance while teaching.

1. Set Your Priority

A perfect and healthy work-life balance maintenance demands that you set priorities. In the example of the juggler, you don’t see him holding all the balls together at a time. He tosses them around and catches the one he knows could fall.

The same is true with teaching. You are your own best decision maker. You could perhaps maintain a log to list down your priorities according to their importance and urgency. Let’s take the example of the Eisenhower Matrix that has been the holy grail for me.

 • Do First: Things with consequences and deadlines. (Urgent)
 • Schedule: Things with unclear deadlines and long-term success. (No Urgent)
 • Delegate: Must do things, but don’t require your specific skills. (Go Easy)
 • Eliminate: Unnecessary tasks and distractions. (Delete)

2. Learn to Say “No”

If you want to focus on your life and your work while teaching, you need to set boundaries. As you know, saying no is not easy, but you need to learn to say it, even if someone in authority expects add to your tasks.

Instead of stressing over approaching deadlines with multiple tasks at hand, you should say a polite “no” to all additional tasks. Let the schools and coordinators know explicitly if you can’t work overtime or work on a project while you’re already leading a school event.

3. Use Digital Tools to Minimize Effort

There are multiple digital tools that can minimize the effort that goes into all the tasks related to teaching. The purpose of AI is not only to get answers for you. AI is now able to plan lessons, design worksheets, suggest teaching strategies, and even write and create songs for your class.

Smart work over hard work has always helped teachers to maintain a work-life balance. And with the beginning of AI, it is so much easier. Certain AI tools are specific to teaching and can design personalized lessons and activities according to the classroom requirements.

My Smart Move

I’ve become overly tech-savvy over time, as it is the only way I can free up time for myself.

4. Separate Your Work and Personal Life

Your work-life should not spill over into your personal life. According to a study by Heetae Choa, Do Young Pyunc, and Chee Keng John Wang, on Teachers’ work-life balance, teachers experience severe burnout when there is a work-leisure conflict.

Once you leave work, your only focus should be on your personal life. If there is anything that’s pending, you need to put it off until the next workday, instead of fitting it into your personal time.

📌 Pro Move

Amongst all the priorities you have, your topmost priority is yourself. Work is a priority while you are at work, and it’s secondary when your personal time begins.
Go easy on yourself!

5. Have a Balanced Routine

All the dear teachers, all the time that you were planning lessons and studying timetables to fit in other work-related things, did you create a similar routine for yourself?

Work-life balance while teaching can be achieved when you know what your day should look like. You need to set time aside for all the tasks and activities your day comprises.

Your mealtimes, a walk in the nearby park, your books-reading time, all of it needs to be scheduled mindfully.

6. Request Admin Support

Speak up if you feel tied up or stuck with your many tasks. There isn’t any harm in requesting help and guidance from your school heads and coordinators. When grading set after set of tests or preparing students for a school assembly, reach out to your admin and request them to assist you.

It isn’t a failure to request help. Teaching can get overwhelming, and maybe you just need a little guidance to manage your work efficiently. You need to seek help to bring work-life balance in life.

7. Learn to Manage Time

When you have clarity about your priorities and your routine, you will know how to manage your time efficiently. Work-life balance while teaching means that you look for an open window during your workday to do the pending tasks.

Your timetable is a time management tool as it gives you a clear picture of your school day. Make sure to put the staff meetings or peer teaching slots in the timetable for further clarity about the free slots.

8. Set Realistic Goals

Everyone knows their limits and physical capabilities, which is why they should set achievable and realistic goals. I cannot plan 25 hours in my day when there are only 24 hours.

So why should a teacher burden herself with goals that are difficult to achieve? Moreover, if the teacher is unable to achieve the goals, they are left feeling like a failure. Realistic goal setting is possible when your priorities are right.

An example is a lesson plan that is due in the current week, while the exam paper is due in the following week. Realistically, you should plan your lesson in the running week and set your goal for the test paper submission for the following week.

9. Observe the Best Practices of Your Colleagues

Everyone has their own way of completing tasks on time while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. It’s always a great idea to observe fellow teachers for their best practices.

I remember that I had observed a fellow teacher timing herself consciously during the lesson. She would often glance at the time to keep up with the pace of the lesson. And within 50 minutes, she would manage the whole lesson, along with the plenary and the activity that she had planned.

Your fellow teachers might not be doing something unusual. But observing them will reveal the small things they do that make a difference in their work-life balance.

10. Continuous Professional Development

I can’t stress enough the importance of continuous professional development in a teacher’s life. Training and workshops help with everything from identifying where the lapse in your routine is to teaching efficient time blocking methods.

With the way that AI is taking over, these trainings are also essential to learn the optimum use of technology. They will also guide you on marking the students’ work smartly and save class time and energy with different teaching pedagogies and strategies.

Read, Before You Leave

Modern teaching requirements call for modern solutions. It is especially complex in the current times to efficiently develop a work-life balance while teaching. The process starts with teachers understanding what work-life balance means and how important it is in a teacher’s life.

As challenging as it sounds, it’s easily attainable if you work towards it. As a teacher, you need to give yourself a pat on the back as often as you can to acknowledge your efforts. You have already been managing well, but you can always do better to protect yourself from burnout.

And always remember my golden words, YOU ROCK, TEACHER!

What People Also Ask About Work-Life Balance?

Q1. With teaching becoming hybrid, how do I set my boundaries?

You need to set boundaries by clearly communicating your off time, like in the following examples:
1. Inform students that they can text you their query, but you will respond to it in school.
2. Mute your notifications at a certain time every day.

Q2. Who can I seek assistance from to reach an ideal work-life balance while teaching?

You can approach your school head, colleagues, and coordinators to request assistance. If you feel that it’s a pressing matter, then you should write to the school board and request teacher-friendly policies.

Q3. What is the real hurdle to work-life balance in teaching?

Teaching is not restricted to teaching only. There are also certain admin tasks that teachers find themselves doing.

Q4. Does a better work-life balance guarantee job satisfaction?

Yes! When teachers have work-life balance, they are more focused and excited about teaching. When they know they have taken care of both aspects of their life, they naturally display increased interest in the well-being of their learners.

A resignation letter is a formal document you submit to your employer to announce your decision to leave your job that states reasons and your final working date.

You may all know about it, but how many of you completely understand how to write a resignation letter and still keep the door open? That is called saying “Goodbye” in the right way.

There comes the need for an expert writer. But not now, because I’m going to explain every possibility to say goodbye to your company gracefully. Let’s have a keen eye on things that you should consider before writing a resignation!

Things to Consider Before Writing a Resignation Letter

 3. Inform Your Employer: The next step is to inform your employer about the situation and why you want to leave the company.

Right Way to Say Goodbye to Your Company

Here, I’ve compiled a comprehensive guide on how to write a letter of resignation to HR to have an immediate effect.

1. Start With Contact Information

Start by giving your contact information at the top of your resignation letter to make it easy for HR to contact you.

You also have to pay attention to your contract information, whether your tenure is going to end or not.

2. State Your Last Working Date

After reviewing your contract and writing your contact information at the top, you may state your departure date.

Your employer needs to know when you are going to be off because they must have time to arrange the workforce.

3. Explain Your Reasons

Explain your reasons. Yes, it’s a gesture of respect that you tell your employer about the difficulties and challenges that you had to deal with.

Further, when you explain your reasons, the chances of getting approval for your resignation increase, which is also a plus.

4. Include Concerns

Later on, when you have explained your valid reasons of why you are quitting this job, you should add concerns.

For instance, you may ask: when will my last pay be approved, or do I have to stand by the company until approval?

5. Thank the Employer for the Opportunity

It’s time to express your gratitude to your employer before signing off, like thanking them for offering you a career opportunity.

However, they are also humans and need to be appreciated and respected, even if you didn’t enjoy working for them.

6. Conclude Professional Sign Off

Conclude your resignation letter with a professional sign-off by writing a salutation.

There are many suitable things that you can write while signing off, like Yours sincerely, My Last Day, and Thanks.

7. Proofread

Now, check for mistakes, whether grammatical mistakes or even spelling to make your resignation a perfect piece of writing.

You can especially take assistance from writing tools, like Grammarly and QuillBot, to make your writing stand out and avoid mistakes.

💡 Pro Tip

Write Your Resignation Letter in a Polite Tone to Express Your Feelings Only and Not About the Harsh Environment.

Securing a pre-med internship is the best way to gain maximum work experience in the medical field. This is a great way for undergraduate medical students to practice their knowledge and skills with professionals.

Many students waste their valuable time as undergraduates and then suffer later. However, many still want to secure one for themselves, but they don’t know how.

In this blog post, I will discuss how to secure a competitive pre-med internship for yourself.

What is a Pre-Med Internship?

A pre-med internship is a career path in the medical field that provides practical experience in a real-world environment. This is a way for students to experiment with the concept of medicine as a career option.

In this time period, they acquire both clinical and administrative skills. And it helps them to determine their fitness in the medical environment in advance of a medical school education.

Such internships will involve direct experience of patient care, collaboration, and administrative practice in a hospital or a clinic. And this experience will give insights and a competitive advantage when applying again in the future.

Pre-Med Interns

Competitive Pre-Med Internships

There is a vast variety of pre-med internships for medical students. But here are the most valuable ones that usually students get interested in and proceed towards. And this is the reason that these ones become more competitive.

NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP)

The NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP) is an elite program. It provides the opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students to participate in a real-world medical experience.

This medical experience includes a practical-based biomedical and biological science research experience at the National Institutes of Health.

Participants engage in a research project with leading scientists. This increasing exposure to advanced techniques provides a rich mentoring experience.

The program also conducts seminars, workshops, and a final poster session. In these programs, students showcase their results with peers and staff. And also present a well-rounded introduction to careers in scientific research.

Amgen Scholars Program

The Amgen Scholars program is a summer research program open to undergraduate students all over the world. This involves those students who are studying biotechnology and biomedical sciences.

And it offers the students an immersive and comprehensive experience of laboratory research. This takes place under senior faculty, professional development, networking, and regional symposiums.

The program aims to create more opportunities and desire for advanced scientific careers. And this gets done with the exposure to full-time research, mentorship, exposure to an international circle, and a community of scientists.

Stanford Clinical Summer Internship

The Stanford Clinical Summer Internship (CSI) is a selective, intensive program that immerses high school seniors and juniors. It also caters to the undergraduate pre-medical students in the art and science of medicine.

And this gets done through activities, simulations, lectures given by Stanford faculty, and exposure to real medical cases.

This is regarded as a practical skills training program. Stanford Medicine offers the program to empower individuals by providing a wide scope outlook on healthcare careers.

And it also helps to build networks in the medical field through hands-on training in multiple areas. This includes the physical examinations, differential diagnosis, and a treatment plan.

Strategies to Secure a Competitive Pre-Med Internship

Securing a highly competitive pre-med internship requires a very strategic approach. Here are some of the strategies you can utilize to get a valued pre-med internship:

Research

Start by investigating the availability of various internship programs. And for that, you have to search hospitals, outpatient clinics, and medical research facilities.

When you research internship programs, look first at local hospitals, research centers, or universities. Then, expand your search to include pre-med internship opportunities abroad.

Look online at their websites, contact people in their network who work in the medical sphere. And ask your academic advisors or career services about possible internship opportunities.

Well-Tailored Resume

Customize your pre-med resume and cover letter to reflect valuable experiences, coursework, and skills.

This should reflect your interest in the field of medicine. And for that, you have to highlight any past experience, healthcare-related, research work, volunteering, or leadership.

This will help to qualify you as a strong candidate for the internship program.

Utilize Networks

Networking is one of the most significant sources of internship. Visit career fairs, go to medical conferences or other local events, and meet people who are already working in the field.

You have to build networks with multiple valuable alumni, faculty members, and mentors. You have built these networks with those who can have any connections to internships or can write a recommendation.

Networking will also bring about opportunities that you can not get anywhere else. And it also improves your chances of getting the right internship.

Online Resources

You also have to use online resources. Search for specific resources that are designed to help you find and secure internships.

There are multiple websites and platforms available for this purpose, including LinkedIn, Indeed, and many others.

After signing up and applying for various opportunities, you have to set up the job alert option. And check for the internship postings on a regular basis.

Prepare for Interviews

Do not forget that when you are invited to take an interview, you have to demonstrate your interest and motivation. Additionally, your knowledge of the organization and the medical sphere.

Learn about common interview questions, practice responses, and point out any relevant experiences and skills.

Summing Up

Securing a competitive pre-med internship is essential for gaining valuable experience in the medical field. You can achieve this by understanding the significance of pre-med internships, researching opportunities, and crafting a well-tailored resume.

Keep in mind that by using all these strategies, you can enhance your chances of success. Take proactive steps towards your future medical career by applying these strategies. And you will be well on your way to achieving your goals.

No doubt! India is a prominent leader as a powerhouse in software development, with a profound talent base and an innovative-focused mentality.

As proof, Indian development software companies have been instrumental in helping businesses create, maintain, and implement EdTech solutions.

That’s why the demand for Indian software skills is growing across all companies and industries, including startups and multinational corporations.

But… do you know why trust Indian EdTech development companies? This article will enlighten you on some key points that you can consider to trust Indian development companies.

Here are some considerations that you can recall while deciding whether Indian EdTech development companies are worth the trust.

1. An International Prestige of Quality

It takes time to build a reputation for Indian software developers. Further, it is a product of decades of investment in education, infrastructure, and an ecosystem of IT services that grow around it. There are thousands of computer science graduates in India, with many having strict training in advanced technologies, like AI and ML.

This is directly related to professional HR. Indian programmers are renowned for being problem-solving, flexible, and hardworking. Now, Indian software development companies have developed a reputation for producing high-quality services at economical costs with flexibility and responsiveness.

2. Scalability and Strength of the Workforce

Scalability is one of the best concerns about an Indian offshore software company, folks. India has a huge pool of workers, so businesses there can quickly put together teams to work on projects of all sizes and levels of difficulty. Indian companies can easily grow or shrink on the basis of the needs of their clients.

A client may only need a few mobile developers, or they may need a full-fledged enterprise development team. This ability to grow is especially helpful for businesses whose tasks change often or that are starting to go through the digital transformation process.

3. Using Up-to-Date Approaches and Tools

Indian companies that make software don’t just follow trends; they help move them forward. Agile and DevOps practices are deeply integrated into most development workflows. This allows teams to deliver updates in small steps and keep up with continuous integration and release pipelines.

Along with their core development skills, many Indian companies are also very good at developing products for the next generation. In a tech world that is changing quickly, these companies are helping businesses stay ahead by making AI-powered learning tools.

Indian engineers are also very good at working with the cloud. A lot of teams know how to use platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, which let clients use current infrastructure to build safe and cost-effective apps. Read more on TheEconomicTimes.

4. Maximizing Efficiency Without Sacrifice

Effectiveness in terms of cost is still important, but it’s important to know that lower prices do not mean lower quality. Indian software development businesses have a unique value proposition: they can hire high-quality engineers for a lot less money than others.

Because it’s so cheap, startups and small businesses can invest in custom software creation without going over their budgets. Large companies can take on bigger digital projects because they know they can make their resources go further.

5. Cooperation and Communication

Communication problems are something that people often worry about when working on projects abroad. But Indian software companies have come a long way in making it easier for people to talk. Most project managers and developers speak English well and are used to working with clients.

Furthermore, companies have also put a lot of money into modern systems for project management and collaboration. Indian teams keep in touch with each other regularly and openly through Slack updates, daily stand-ups on Zoom, and tracking progress in Jira.

6. Building Trust and Maintaining Clientele Over Time

Indian software development companies like Imenso Software, based out of Gurgaon, India, often focus on building long-term partnerships. Their business plans are usually based on long-term partnerships, and many clients come back for later stages of growth, maintenance, or expansion.

Focusing on longevity makes developers want to learn more about their clients’ business, user base, and how the market works. Because of this, the coders now work with the company more strategically, as true technology partners rather than just suppliers, as per NEWS18.

7. Experience in the Field and Subject Area

Indian software development companies work with a lot of different industries, from healthcare and fintech to logistics and e-commerce. Their experience in a variety of sectors gives them domain-specific knowledge and the ability to provide answers that fit specific needs.

A development team that has worked with several retail clients can offer useful information about how to connect customers and integrate payments. In the same way, teams that have worked in healthcare often know a lot about safety and patient management systems.

8. Cultural Competence and Flexibility

Indian software engineers are known for being able to work with people from different cultures. They have been taught how to work with people from different backgrounds and how to deal with Western clients. This cultural fluency makes relationships go more smoothly, builds trust, and reduces problems when people work together.

Companies often celebrate cultural events and milestones with clients from other countries. This builds friendships and makes the relationship more personal. Moreover, this shared understanding can help people be more creative, work together better, and be successful in the long run.

More and more businesses are going online, which will make Indian software development companies even more important. More money is being put into AI, robotics, and cybersecurity, and Indian companies are answering with niche services and knowledge.

India has a bright future because it is committed to STEM education, helps tech startups, and its IT infrastructure is getting better. With more and more innovative mid-sized businesses and companies, India is ready to lead the next wave of software development around the world.

Hola, Edulize Readers!

Are you seeking a job nowadays? If you are, then you need a professional resume to begin the process. Now, what is the professional resume definition, and why is it important?

A resume is a document that introduces you to the company or organization that you’re applying to. Or let’s put it this way, it’s like your LinkedIn bio, except that it’s carefully drafted for your prospective employer.

First-time job applicants need to submit a resume as much as someone who’s been working for some time and is between jobs. This is for the new employer to know your complete profile if you want them to consider you for the job.

Let’s now get on with the details of the professional resume definition.

What is a Resume?

A resume, also spelled as résumé, is an official document that informs the hiring authority about your:

 • Objective behind the job application,
 • Date of birth and full name,
 • Contact details,
 • academic qualifications,
 • relevant achievements,
 • hard and soft skills,
 • work experience (if any)

Your resume is most likely in response to a job opportunity that you came across on a news or employment website, or through someone in your network. Since it’s your response to a job announcement, your resume needs to be tailored to the job description.

Moreover, this isn’t a cover letter you’re writing; rather, it’s a comprehensive document, hardly 1-2 pages long.

Pro Tip

The terms CV and resume are almost the same; however, you submit a resume or a concise document in the US and Canadian job market, and a CV, which is a more detailed document, in Europe.

What Is a Resume Used For?

A resume informs the employer whether you’re fit for the job or not. Most importantly, with your resume, you ensure that the hiring authority gets an immediate gist of your abilities and qualifications.

This is a concise and comprehensive document that enlists your qualifications, skills, and work experience that the employer is seeking. An ideal resume includes certifications, hands-on experiences like project work, or volunteer services relevant to the role.

They’re only concerned about information and keywords that match the job description; the rest is irrelevant and useless. For example, if you’re applying for a leadership position like a coordinator or section head.

Then mention being a team player and any relevant experience leading a team.

Employers take 7 seconds on average to view your resume.

The 7 Second CV, James Reed

What is a Resume Example?

You need an impactful resume in the shifting employment field and competitive job markets. There are three formats for resume writing that you need to know.

You need to choose a format that fits your situation best.

 1. Chronological Format: Focuses on your work experience
 2. Functional Format: Skills-based resume/for someone with less or no work experience
 3. Combination Format: An in-between, more common format, gives equal weightage to your skills and work experience
An infographics that tells the Formats of a Resume

1. Chronological Format

This format is especially useful if your work history is extensive. As the name suggests, the chronological resume definition is to list your work experience in reverse chronological order.

This means you begin with your most recent work experience, going backwards. It’s somewhat like the default resume format in the US.

Purpose: Recruiters prefer this format for the overview they get of your entire work experience. The following elements form a chronological resume:

 1. personal information
 2. work experience (larger body of the resume)
 3. qualifications (at the bottom, in smaller font)
 4. skills (at the bottom, in smaller font)

2. Functional Format

The easiest functional resume definition is that it is a skills-based format. The format emphasises your skill set, and not your work experience. Ideally, this format is for you if you have gaps in your work history, if you’re a beginner, or if you have transferable skills.

Purpose: In this resume, you’re telling the recruiter how your skills are relevant to the job. The format for a functional resume should follow this order:

 1. personal information
 2. skills (larger body of the resume)
 3. experience(at the bottom, in smaller font)
 4. education (at the bottom, in smaller font)

3. Combination Format

Let’s say you want an equal focus on your work experience as well as your skills, then this resume is your go-to. To give you a combination resume definition, it combines the chronological and functional formats and gives them both equal significance.

Purpose: Works best if you’re switching jobs or looking to change your career path. The combination format is structured like this:

 1. personal information
 2. skills (equal length and emphasis as the work history)
 3. work experience (equal length and emphasis as the skills section)
 4. qualifications

If you need help formatting your resume or want to ensure it looks professional, tools like Zety’s resume builder can help. With easy-to-use templates, you can easily edit your resume to reflect your most relevant qualifications and experience.

What is a Resume Supposed to Look Like?

The idea is for you to incorporate any of the three formats into your resume. There are other features and formats to consider as well when drafting your ideal resume.

Some things you need to keep in mind are the digital aspects of an effective resume. We promised you we would walk you through the resume writing process. Therefore, we have free templates for you to use when curating your resume.

Ask yourself:

 • Is my resume electronically scannable?
 • Is it ATS-friendly?
 • Should I include an infographic?

Are these terms puzzling you? Read in Details!

1. Electronic Resume

Well, see, an easy-to-understand electronic resume definition is that it is submitted online. When it’s fed into the computer, the data doesn’t swallow it up. Different job portals might require you to submit the document in a specific format, like PDF, HTML, or plain text.

2. ATS Resume

An ATS-friendly resume is easy to read for a computer. This format is written in standard and uniform font, along simple lines so that the Applicant Tracking System can read it. The software looks for keywords instead of scanning the whole text.

3. Infographic Resume

The infographic resume definition is in the name itself. These resumes use images to show connections, timelines, or symbols. As attractive as these resumes are, they don’t exactly fall under the scannable resume definition, as the ATS software is unable to read them.

Now, for the promised Resume templates

1. Chronological Resume Template

 1. Personal Information: [Begin with your full name, contact info including your phone number, location, email address, and LinkedIn profile (if any)]
 2. Summary/Objective: [Summarise why you’re applying for the job and what goals you want to achieve with it, 1-2 lines at the max]
 3. Work Experience: [This is the main body of your resume, under this heading begin enlisting your work experience beginning with the most recent, include all details from the names of your organisations/employers to the number of years you worked, your role/position]
 4. Skills: [Here comes your hard and soft skills, all your technical expertise as well as people skills]
 5. Academic Qualifications: [Begin with your latest and highest degree, go in reverse chronology, and mention all relevant qualifications]

2. Functional Resume Template

 1. Personal Information: [Begin with your full name, contact info including your phone number, location, email address, and LinkedIn profile (if any)]
 2. Summary/Objective: [Summarise why you’re applying for the job and what goals you want to achieve with it, 1-2 lines at the max]
 3. Skills: [The main body should include all relevant skills for the job, and your work experience will be listed beneath your skill set. To mention a teacher resume example, if Classroom Management is one of your skills, then under this heading, you’ll give a brief description of how you did it; so on and so forth.]
 4. Work experience: [Your work experience will go over here]
 5. Academic Qualifications: [Relevant academic record in reverse chronology comes here]

 3. Skills: [Dedicate a big section to this, should include all relevant skills for the job]
 4. Work experience: [An equally big section for your work experience, will go over here]
 5. Academic Qualifications: [Relevant academic record in reverse chronology comes here]

Your free templates don’t end here. We have narrowed down and created more job-specific templates for you.

4. Entry-level Resume

You’re a fresh college grad and you’re applying for your first official job. This means you’re drafting an entry-level resume. Then this is the template for you:

 1. Personal Information: [Begin with your full name, contact info including your phone number, location, email address, and LinkedIn profile (if any)]
 2. Summary/Objective: [Summarise why you’re applying for the job and what goals you want to achieve with it, 1-2 lines at the max]
 3. Academic Qualifications: [Enlist all your academic record in reverse chronology]
 4. Work experience: [Include any relevant work experience, volunteer services, internships, over here]
 5. Skills: [Include all relevant skills for the job over here]

5. Experienced/Mid Career Applicant

You’ve been part of the workforce, and you’re either switching jobs or making a comeback after a brief hiatus, which is why you need to use this template.

 1. Personal Information: [Begin with your full name, contact info including your phone number, location, email address, and LinkedIn profile (if any)]
 2. Summary/Objective: [Summarise why you’re applying for the job and what goals you want to achieve with it, 1-2 lines at the max]
 3. Expertise: [The expertise that you’ve developed in your field of work]
 4. Work experience: [Include all relevant work experience in reverse chronology, over here]
 5. Academic Qualifications: [Enlist all your academic records in reverse chronology]
 6. Skills: [Include all relevant skills for the job over here]

Final Thoughts

You need to look at where you are in your career and settle on the appropriate format to choose the best resume. You really need to stand out if you don’t want your resume to be swallowed up and lost in tons of data.

The recruiter doesn’t see you. They only have the resume to decide whether you’ll add value to the workplace. Your resume is the stepping stone to your interview with the recruiter.

Make sure to look for the right choice of fonts, words, and structure to find the best resume template for yourself. Your chances for an interview and later employment increase when your resume describes your abilities and potential.

You should now feel confident about the best resume template that you chose.

So go ahead now, write that resume.

What is the most concerning thing when wishing to study abroad? Of course! Language. The reason is that it serves as a pillar that helps you communicate with others while working or studying in different cultures.

What if you can’t concentrate on learning a new language? Here’s the real twist where gamification EdTech comes to help you with platforms like Duolingo.

This is a language teaching platform that allows students to learn their preferred language in virtual classes. If you are interested in knowing more about this platform, then have a look at this guide for your satisfaction.

Let’s Get Going!

What is Duolingo? Language Learning App

Duolingo is an online language learning app that helps you learn a new language in a gamified EdTech approach.

This is better known for providing daily interactive short practice sessions to keep you engaged. Further, it offers an English proficiency test, which is a valid certificate that proves you are fluent in the English language.

Duolingo has started to teach other subjects like Math and Chess ♟️ to help students remain actively engaged with learning. 21% of applicants missed a career opportunity because they don’t know a second language. The stats show that learning a second language is somehow important for you!

What is Duolingo App?

Duolingo

Most pupils ask about Duolingo app, whether it’s an Apple based or Android based platform. Let me tell you that it is available for both Apple and Android devices.

If you want to install, then here are the links:

How Duolingo Died? A Marketing Strategy

This was a pure marketing strategy by the owner and CEO, Luis von Ahn. On February 19, 2025, he announced that the Mascot had died because learners didn’t take their lessons seriously.

Surprisingly, the Duolingo owl came back on February 24, 2025, which shows that it was a marketing stunt.

Duolingo Features to Make the Most Out of It

Here are some significant features of Duolingo, the new language learning platform.

1. Streak System

Duolingo offers a streak feature just like Snapchat to encourage students to continue their learning sessions daily.

Through it, you can notice your consistency and dedication toward your goal. It acts as an alarm to remind you to give 15 minutes to your learning procedure.

2. Level Adjustment

The level adjustment feature allows users to continue learning a language from their existing understanding of the language.

Have you ever felt yourself stuck at the same level of functionality and skills in your professional life? If yes, then what’s the criterion you have followed to measure it? And did you really even try to improve yourself? Well, such assessments are considered to be logical, and a practical way is also there, termed as the Learning Curve.

It is now getting popular in the corporate world and is different from Vicarious Learning. High-profile industries are now assessing the skills of their workers to determine how much time it will take to become a professional.

No matter if you are a worker or an industry owner, you have to understand the concept of the learning curve to determine if you are improving yourself for a particular task.

Let’s get going on it, as I have mentioned in this guide!

What Does Learning Curve Mean?

Learning curve is the graphical representation of the rate at experiences a certain type of job to learn new skills or knowledge against time and effort.

This is a relationship between a worker and the attempts they had made on a certain task successfully, and the curve that comes from the graphical representation. There are some similar terms, which you can use as a learning curve synonym: cost curve, experience curve, efficiency curve, and productivity curve.

In addition, it was designed and used for the first time by Dr Hermann Ebbinghaus, a German Psychologist, in 1885. He experienced the productivity curve by himself and posited a learning curve definition that after 20 minutes the 60% of the knowledge can be retained.

Learning Curve is Divided into Stages:

The experience curve is divided into 5 stages, which are:

 • Stage 1. Slower Starting Phase.
 • Stage 2. Increasing Productivity.
 • Stage 3. The learner is Plateauing in Proficiency.
 • Stage 4. Learner Realize: There is Still Room for Improvements.
 • Stage 5. When Learners Equip Muscle Memory, AKA Overlearning.

How Does Learning Curve Work?

The learning curve works in 4 simple and easy steps and aims to depict the S-curve.

1. Initial Stage

When the cost or performance of producing a product or performing a task is high. Likely, when experience grows, the improvement rate also increases.

2. Middle Stage

Learners’ improvement rate grows, and the cost of their learning reduces as the improvement goes well.

3. Expert Stage

Ultimately, the improvement rate or cost plateau.

4. S-Shaped Curve

Finally, your experience in learning stages comes in the S-shape, indicating the effects of continuous learning.

How Does Learning Curve Work

Learning Curve Theory for Understanding the Framework

The Learning curve theory can be represented by the percentage or rate that identifies the improvement rate.

Learning Curve Theory states: “An organization’s or individual’s efficiency and proficiency increase as they repeat the task, reducing their time and resources.”

However, it is indicated in the graphical shape in mathematical form 🦊, and that’s how you can define learning curve.

5 Main Types of Learning Curve to Explore Various Categories

Here are the 5 main types of learning curves in the organization and workforce development teams.

1. Steep Learning Curve

The learning curve is steep when a person requires high efforts and time to acquire an experience and skill initially, but has significant benefits as they become usual.

Steep Learning Curve

2. Diminishing Returns

Diminishing returns refers to a situation where initial progress and learning are fast, but the process of improvement slows down. Ultimately, the condition of plateau or leveling off is obtained.

Diminishing Returns Learning Curve

3. Increasing Returns

Increasing returns refers to a situation where initial progress and learning are slow, but efficiency and proficiency increase over time. Eventually, this condition reaches to plateau of high frequency.

Increasing Returns Learning Curve

4. Increasing Decreasing Return (S-curve)

S-curve in the experience curve type that indicates how learners progress slowly, progress steadily to improve skills for rapid improvement, and eventually attain a plateau of mastery.

Increasing Decreasing Return Learning Curve

5. Complex Curve

The complex curve indicates a more realistic and interactive pattern that often dips and plagues. The dips and plagues are used to demonstrate the challenges and failures in proficiency and efficiency.

🧪 Learning Curve Formula to Calculate The Curve

Learning curve formula contains several factors that bring the values of each necessary element to calculate the value of the learning curve.

You can make the hypothesis based on the values you will get after doing some math and making the graph.

The formula is written as:

Where several factors represent these values:

 • Y = Cumulative Average Time or Batch
 • a = Time For The First Unit
 • X = Cumulative Unit
 • b = Learning Rate Coefficient

The learning rate coefficient is in the power form of X and can be represented as “b = log (learning rate)/log(2).”

Learning Curve Formula to Calculate The Curve

How to Calculate Learning Curve by Using Formula?

As you know, every method and approach is different for each, and you have to calculate the appropriate result according to the values. So, I’ve compiled this calculation based on assumed values to find the Y.

Also, you can follow these steps on how to calculate the efficiency curve.

1. Gather Values

Find out the values of each factor to calculate the Y element. In this case, let’s assume:

 • The production time rate of a product is 100 hours (a = 100 hours).
 • Learning rate is 70% (cumulative average time decreases to 80% each time production doubles).
 • I need to calculate the cumulative average time for 3 units.

2. Calculate Coefficient Value

Secondly, you have to calculate the coefficient value (b=?)🤔 according to the b = log (learning rate)/log(2).

b = log(0.8) / log(2)

= log(0.8) / log(2)

= -0.096910013 / 0.30102999566

≈ -0.322

3. Evaluate the Y Factor

Now, plug the values into the formula (Y=aX^b).

Y = 100 * 3^-0.322

= 100 * 0.70204824169

≈ 70.2 hours

So, the value for the Y factor is approximately 70.2 hours.

Learning Curve Examples to Understand It Better

Here are some real-life examples of learning curves that will help you understand the term better.

1. Adopting School Portals

The simplest example of the learning curve is when students start adopting the school portals, like Wake ID and RMS. Initially, they start by learning how to log in and access learning resources and gradually master the portals over time.

2. Learning a New Language

There is a lot of language learning software available online, like Duolingo and Babbel, that offers a gamified approach for learners to learn new languages. Initially, adapting to these forums may be difficult, but over time, learners will adapt their learning environment and enhance proficiency.

3. Playing Educational Games

Playing educational games is fun and a rich educational approach. Although students face difficulty while playing and learning through them and this gap is covered periodically. Further, this is a perfect example of a learning curve for students to understand the term better.

Before You Go

Well, these are the details about the learning curve, including its meaning, types, and formula to understand its core concept. In addition, I’ve incorporated some of the practical examples of this term to help students and professionals understand it better.

Hopefully, this comprehensive guide can fulfill your hunger for daily pearls of wisdom and satisfy your inner learner. Stay tuned for more informative content like this because Edulize aims to cover educational concepts easily and understandably.
